Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, EURO EQUUS

Jerez de la Frontera is a city in Andalusia in the southwest of Spain. There is a population of about 215,000 inhabitants and that makes it the biggest city in the Cádiz province – Jerez outnumbers Cádiz city in terms of inhabitants and economic development.  
The city is well known thanks to its wine culture, including its production of sherry, Andalusian horse breeding, and flamenco dancing. It is nestled between the sea and the mountains; making it an attractive destination for tourists. The historical centre of Jerez is proclaimed to be cultural monument. 

It hosts many cultural events with long standing traditions that are celebrated, some of which include Easter festivities and a traditional horse market. There is a motor racing circuit, "Circuito Permanente de Jerez", former site of Formula 1, now a place which hosts one of the races associated with Moto GP World Championship.

There is The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Skills, that is similar to equestrian school in Vienna. In the surrounding area are a number of reputable stables. In 2004 Jerez hosted the fourth World equestrian games.
