Transportation of residents with limited mobility

Since 1st February 2004, the Pardubice Public Transport Company (DPmP, a.s.) has been engaged in the transportation of disabled people by a specially modified minibus. DPmP, a.s. acquired this service, along with a Mercedes vehicle, from the original operator of the service, SPID Handicap o.p.s.  Since 1st July 2005 DPmP a.s. has introduced a new modern Ford Tranzit 330L minibus into operation to replace the worn out Mercedes Benz. The transport company received a contribution from Pardubice City Hall towards purchasing the new vehicle. At the turn of 2005/2006 the transport company purchased a Renault Kangoo as a back-up vehicle. The city of Pardubice financed the installation of a tilting access ramp for this vehicle.
This transportation service for the disabled is operated on weekdays from 6:00 am until 5:30 pm and transports clients from “home to home”, which means that the minibus collects clients directly from their front doorstep at a pre-agreed time. Accompaniment of clients inside their home buildings is not provided by the drivers.

This is a fee-based service and is charged according to the valid tariff:
•    15 CZK ............ single journey within the city transportation network
•    12 CZK/km ....... outside the city network (return distance travelled outside the city calculated)

It is the passengers responsibility to carry a valid travel document with them at all times when travelling. The travel document for this special mode of transportation is issued by DPmP a.s. specially for this mode of transportation; for travel outside the city network a tax receipt issued by the driver or an invoice constitutes the travel document.
This special mode of transportation is available for:
•    Disabled people who don’t own a motor vehicle or who are not able to own a vehicle due to health reasons, or unfavourable climatic conditions, or due to their vehicle being under repair,
•    all disabled pass holders,
•    citizens who become immobile for a short period of time owing to injury or illness.

Priority is given to those persons confined to a wheelchair.
Travellers can order or cancel transport by calling SPID Handicap o.p.s. on 466 265 582 at least one day in advance of the required travel date between the hours of 8am and 3pm. At the time of ordering you should provide the name of the customer, the date and time of travel, disabled pass number, contact telephone number, and the collection point and destination.
